GENESIS' FIRST STEP TOWARDS AN EV FUTURE, THE GV60!

The All-new Recently Revealed All-Electric Cross-Over From Genesis, the GV60.

The latest offering from Genesis is the recently revealed GV60, an electric cross-over from the Korean auto maker. The small electric SUV is supposed to represent the brand's move towards an all-electric future as Genesis plans to switch to an all EV brand by 2025.

OVERALL DESIGN:

Genesis says this particular design is based on 'Athletic Elegance' and it is the most dynamic and futuristic design based on that Athletic Elegance. The vehicle uses cameras as side mirrors instead of the traditional mirrors as on the other Genesis models but generally, the GV60 does show that it is a Genesis vehicle with the brand's signature design, the quad headlights and taillights and the big grille, obviously, but lower down this time.

The car's design sure has caused a bit controversy as some think the overall design is not really appealing to the eye while some think otherwise. We would say it is on the average, mediocre, it is not the best looking EV out there but also it is not the ugliest, surely!

Moving on to the inside, the GV60 takes a different route as opposed to its siblings, the design is different from what we usually see on other Genesis models. Getting inside you are faced with a wide centre screen one with the gauge cluster to form a big single screen, usually these are separated on other Genesis models as we have said. You also have the floating centre console with a flat floor underneath and a slim cockpit. One of the key features of this interior is the Crystal Sphere shaped gear selector called the "Shift By Wire (SBW)" as Genesis says, interestingly, that Crystal Sphere becomes the vehicle's mood lights when the car is off. The overall interior design is quite impressive, it looks good.

POWER SPECS:

The GV60 will use the already existing Hyundai's 800-volt EV systems. That should be good for 577 HP (424kW) with a range of up to 512 KM (320mi).

Now just something to note, the 'G' on the name stands for 'Genesis' and the 'V' stands for car's versatility as Genesis says whereas the '60' represents it as being the brand's lowest offering in their line-up.

The GV60 is expected to go on sale some time next year.
