THE AMG GLE 63 S COUPE BECOMES BRABUS' LATEST ADDITION TO THE ROCKET 900 EDITION LINE-UP.
The German tuner Brabus has once again served us with the latest addition to their Rocket 900 line-up with the all-new Brabus Rocket 900 Edition based on the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupe.
This new Rocket 900 Edition also holds the record for the world's fastest SUV and thanks to Brabus for that, a lot was done in making this fire breathing family hauler the fastest SUV. Instead of the 4.0L Twin-Turbo V8 the car now has a 4.5L Brabus Twin-Turbo V8 engine with a total power output of 900 hp. The engine also features special high performance turbochargers. This new Rocket 900 also puts out an insane amount of torque at 1,250 Nm which is transmitted via a 9-speed automatic gearbox but to preserve that gearbox, the torque output is electronically limited to just 1,050 Nm of which is still a lot.
The internals of the enhine were reworked to achieve those insane amounts of power. A lot of things were fitted, i.e, special crankshaft, new forged pistons with 84mm bore, 2 special Brabus turbochargers with larger compressor unit, 2 high pressure fuel pumps and many other things were done to the engine. A valve controller Brabus stainless steel high performance exhaust system was fitted, of which has active sound management which allows the driver to switch in between the ear deafening Sport mode and a more quiet subtle "Coming Home" mode as Brabus calls it.
On the exterior, Brbaus also made a lot of changes. The Rocket 900 Edition features a lot of carbon fibre bits all round, a special Brbaus RamAir grille was fitted, special Brabus wheels were also fitted of which helped in achieving the 330km/h top speed.
For the interior, the German tuner also made a statement, a few changes were made to the interior. There is red accents throughout the interior, the seats are covered in Brabus fine leather slate gray, the dashboard in Alcantara all together with the headliner and other bits.
