The Mercedes Gullwings.

Hello reader, today we will look at The Mercedes Gullwings models.

First, let's get to know them;

300 SL Gullwing (red)

C 111 Gullwing (Yellow)

C 112 Gullwing (Silver)

SLS AMG Gullwing (red)

300SL Gullwing: Launched in 1954, the W198 300SL Gullwing featured a 3.0-litre straight six engine producing 220 horsepower and 275 Nm of torque paired to a 4-speed manual transmission enough for a 0-100km/h sprint in just 8.8 seconds. Top speed was limited to 260km/h.

C111 Gullwing: Made as an experimental vehicle in 1969 with glass-fibre reinforced plastic body this one featured a 2.4L four rotor engine 345 horsepower which was later replaced with a 3.5-litre V8 engine but sadly, this car never went into series production.

C112 Gullwing: Made in 1991, it never went into series production though there were already preorders for this supercar. It was to be propelled by a 6-litre 408 HP V12 with 580 Nm of torque Mercedes-Benz 60-degree M120 engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and driving the rear wheels only; good enough for a 0-100km/h sprint in around 4.9 seconds. Top speed was limited to just 307km/h.

SLS AMG Gullwing: Launched in 2009, the SLS AMG utilizes a 6.2L Naturally Aspirated M159 V8 engine producing 563 HP and 650 Nm of torque driving the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission: good for 0-100km/h sprint in just 3.5 seconds. Top speed was limited to 323km/h. A more potent 750 horsepower (552kW) electric version was made.

Now, what if Mercedes-AMG had made their GT-R in a Gullwing form? Would it have been a good choice?
