ONE OF THE MOST RETRO CARS: The BMW Z8.
And today we take a look back at one of the most retro BMWs ever made, the BMW Z8 from the 2000s.
*Inspired by the legendary, but unsuccessful, BMW 507 the Z8 came out as a future classic from on the go.And today, getting one of these will surely cost you a lot of money and maybe good negotiation skills..
The BMW Z8 came out as a convertible which had both a soft top and removable hard top, cool right? We know..close to perfection.There were Roadster versions too.
Under that long hood lies the BMW S62 4.9L V8 found in the E39 M5 and the grille? Yah it doesn't exactly say "BMW" but it's alright..even the headlights look like something from Aston Martin or Porsche maybe.
The BMW Z8 specs;
-Engine : 4.9L Naturally Aspirated V8 with DOHC, 4 Valves per cylinder.
-Power output : 400 HP and 500Nm of torque.
-Acceleration from 0-100km/h : 4.2 seconds before topping out at 294km/h.
-6-speed manual transmission except for the Alpina Models which were equipped with a 5-speed automatic transmission.
-Rear Wheel Drive.
-Weight : 1660kg
Only 5,703 of these were made between the years 2000 and 2003.Was this the ultimate BMW Grand Tourer back in the day? Well..obviously. It even got James Bond out of his Aston Martin!
